Charles Edward Rappé was my Uncle.
I have started to research microfiche at the local library to get a date of birth for Charles, because I have been in touch with HMS Centurion at Gosport where the Royal Marines records are held and they require a date of birth in order to find the records. I will try to get the records and maybe we will learn about the circumstances of his death.

Information from Don Kindell (added in July 2004) suggests that Charles died of Endocarditis.
Infective endocarditis is defined as an infection of the endocardial surface of the heart, which may include one or more heart valves, the mural endocardium, or a septal defect.

We would like to hear of any information regarding Charles Edward Rappé.

Please contact Andy (webmaster) with any information.
