Stoker First class
Service no. D KX 11492
My Grandfather, Thomas Walsh
served on HMS Repulse and HMS Stronghold.
Thomas is listed on HMS Repulse which most of the family thought he went down with on 10 December 1941, however some other family members seem to think that the telegram of his death said HMS Stronghold. I have looked and
he is recorded as KIA on the list for HMS Stronghold. I can only think that either he was on the Repulse then transferred to Stronghold or that two Thomas Walsh both stokers existed.
Unfortunately the telegram along with a letter from the Navy have gone missing. If they ever turn up I shall do my best to remember to send you a scanned copy for your interest.
